Union Hall is a small village that lies on the south- west coast of County Cork.  It can be reached just off the N71 between Clonakilty to the East and Skibbereen to the West and is snuggled into a sheltered corner at the upper end of Glandore Harbour.

Surrounded by beautiful scenery, the village (part of the parish of Myross). is almost hidden in its own harbour. Union Hall has always been linked with the seafaring tradition and now provides a safe shelter for its own active fishing fleet as well as anchorage to pleasure boats.   It´s calm water is popular with the skiing, diving and canoeing enthusiasts.

A causeway leading into the village has created a natural lagoon which reflects the homes and shops that surround it.

Turning left off the causeway will take you to Keelbeg Pier. Depending on the season, angling and deep-sea fishing are popular and many visitors return year after year to enjoy the sport.  If you would like to visit some of the offshore islands, boat hire is readily available - if you prefer terra firma, the splendid scenery available locally is perfect for a leisurely stroll or for the more serious hikers.

Union Hall is an Irish village with roots steeped in history. Archaeological remains dot the area with Castle ruins and forts just waiting to be searched out.  A Holy Well dedicated to St. Brigid remains a yearly pilgrimage made by many devotees on the first day of February.

The village has had more than its share of admirers.  During the 1700´s was lauded by the great patriot dean of Ireland, Jonathan Swift.   More recently it was chosen by the director / producer David Putnam as the venue for one of his latest films "War of The Buttons."

There are two provision shops, a craft shop, a knitwear shop, a bureau de change / post office, numerous B&B´s and an excellent hostel built in the old stone schoolhouse which also plays host to Sunday evening Traditional music sessions featuring some of Ireland´s top talents, tapas and wine. Good craic and entertainment are the norm at the local pubs and the Union Hall Festival is held yearly in June, featuring games and water sports of all kinds, from serious racing to outrageous tom-foolery

Fishing is one of the main industries of this scenic village. Boat hire for deep sea fishing is available at the pier, and if fresh water angling is you sport, arrangements can be made with the owner of the local lake.
